    The average sperm count today is around 60 million per milliliter in the Western world, having decreased by 1-2% per year from a substantially higher number decades ago.More than 50% of all infertility problems experienced by couples are caused by male infertility. Having a low sperm count can be a devastating problem for a man and can bring a lot of stress into even the most stable of relationships. There are many different factors which could be responsible for a low sperm count and there are also things that can be tried to increase sperm count.

    The most common of which are smoking, stress, genetics, poor nutrition, prescription or illegal drugs, obesity and infections.There is even some indication that frequent trips to the sauna and long hot baths are detrimental, as sperm are sensitive to temperature.
