It only takes one sperm to get pregnant not a whole bunch
HA
I still think you stand a chance as you do only need one. Just dont have sex every day to give the levels chance to full up (That was a bad way to describe it). Yes clomid can help you to.
You taking clomid will only help you not your husband.
My husband has a low sperm count also he went to see the urologist and he put him on clomid for 3 months which did not help.
So we ordered FERTILAID hopes that will help.
Would you consider IVF ICSI where they inject the sperm into the egg to fertilise
You can still conceive with that number but it will be harder. Below 20 million is considered low sperm count, 20-60 million is marginal, and above 60 is good. My husband just had his done and it was 155 million. I took clomid for 4 months and didn’t get pregnant so we are doing another round with clomid and then a trigger shot of ovidrel followed by an IUI. If you already ovulate on your own then there is no need to take clomid. An IUI might be your best option to try next if you have been trying for a while and haven’t gotten pregnant. IUI is preformed a lot for male infertility.
For the IUI they will wash and isolate the strongest swimmers and then put them up inside your uterus near the fallopian tubes.
Your husband should also try to make sure he eats right (lots of green veggies, sunflower seeds, natural foods), take a multivitamin, and keep his family jewels away from warmth and tight clothing. You should also only have sex every other day. When you do the SA they say that you should have sex at least 5 days before but to hold off 3 days before giving a sample. Don’t wait all month, try to do it routinely too to keep them refreshed lol. They should also refer your husband to a urologist to see if he has any hormonal problems or a varicocele that would cause him to have low sperm count.
I would make an appt with an RE if you haven’t already and ask them what your best option would be. Good luck!
I hope you meant 22 million and not 22,000. If its 22,000 then you might as well just move onto ivf with icsi right now.
Do you mean 22,000 sperm/mL? That’s very low. It should be at least 20 million/mL. If it’s less than 10-13 million/mL drs will tell you you probably aren’t going to conceive without ART. Less than 5-6 million/mL mean IVF with ICSI is going to be your best shot. My husband’s is 3 million/mL and we had 3 failed IUIs with meds. You should see a reproductive endocrinologist (fertility dr). A urologist doesn’t specialize in infertility, only disorders.
btw it *does* take more than 1 sperm to get you pregnant. The egg is surrounded by a thick protective covering. It takes the enzyme in the heads of thousands of sperm to dissolve the covering before any sperm can reach the egg. So while it only takes 1 sperm to fertilize the egg it takes many to penetrate far enough to allow that 1 sperm to do so.
