TTC 1.5 years, we are both 33. My periods are regular and I ovulate on day 15 to the tee. My Dr. is planning on starting me on Clomid and on the shots. How will these help me if I already ovulate and everything so far is normal? What are we doing wrong?

you have a 20-25% chance of getting pregnant each month even if EVERYTHING is perfect.. but that doesnt mean that after 4-5 months you are guaranteed a pregnancy.. the average couple can take close to a year to conceive and that of course means there are exceptions on both ends of the spectrum.

best of luck, keep on trying and hopefully you will get the bundle of joy you want soon enough!

I can relate…all those tests with hormones, levels, sperm count are normal & still no BFP.
Well, I guess everyone is different & it could be that it might take some healthy couples a lot longer.
I would defintely discuss with your OBGYN the reasons to why he wants to administer shots & put you on Clomid. Perhaps you do ovualte, but not every month, however I am not sure. He/she will have more accurate answers to why & how come.

I wish you the best & hope that you will get your BFP real soon!
Will say a prayer for you:)

While Clomid is generally used to initiate ovulation it can be used to help your follicles mature. I hope everything works out well and you get your BFP after your first round of Clomid.

I took clomid and got some kind of shot along with two IUI's on one cycle and i'm pregnant with baby #1. I think it's really important that you relax and get to the point that you say, ok- whatever is meant to be will be and i'm not worrying about it. I actually was convinced that it didn't work after paying a ton of money for a 35% chance (that's what my dr said). And out of nowhere, there was a baby! I'm 23 so i'm not sure if that makes a difference but i also have PCOS which makes my hormones all messed up and i used to have like 2 periods a year so i was alot more messed up than you. But i had a wonderful infertility dr who fixed me up and made it happen. So don't get stressed, keep in mind that they have to find the right clomid dose for you and sometimes that takes a few tries. Good luck to you and your husband. It can happen and will when the time is right, just trust that and stop worrying.

Oh and have sex every 2-3 days, that way you'll have the highest sperm count and you are still getting plenty on their way to the finish line!

    1. maybe your mucus kills sperm. this can happen because of clomid too.
    2. are you sure you're ovulating? i needed ovitrelle with that, sometimes the follicles ovulate when too big and then they aren't so good anymore.
    3. maybe you need progesterone pills after ovulation, to hold the pregnancy…
here it's called endometrin, maybe where you live too.
    4. maybe your fallopian tubes are blocked.

My friend had this and the sperm was totally normal as well, but to put is in easy to understand terms, her eggs had a hard shell so the sperm could not penetrate them.
