We have been trying for 2 and a half years now to get pregnant. We just started to test for things. So far we have found out that my husbands sperm count it low. Only 17 million and out of that only 2% are mobile. When we did the test we brought the sample from home, so my dr. order the test done again but at the hospital to see what the results are, just in case it was because of us bringing the test from home. But my question is what are my chances of getting pregnant with an IUI even with his low sperm and low mobility? Has anyone gotten pregnant with these circumstances? Thanx!!

IUI is a great option even if your husband has a low sperm count. You can even talk to the doctor about having your husband produce multiple sperm samples and have them frozen. Than when you are ready for your IUI (ovulation day) than they can combine many sperm samples to get the maximum number of sperm inside your uterusl. If he can produce at least 10 million motile sperm, than you have about a 25% chance of conceiving with an IUI, which is a really good chance.
If you are over 29, than you may want to try some simple fertility drugs like clomid or letrozole. These drugs can help you produce more than one egg at a time, giving you about another 10% chance of conceiving. Always discuss drugs with your doctor, because of the health concerns and high chances of having multiples.
Good luck!
