Is there any male fertility issues caused by bromocriptine?

I’m curious if usage of bromocriptine has reported male fertility issues?

  1. Adam says:

An interesting question, given bromocriptine’s ability to stimulate prolactin levels to the point where even some men might ooze out their nipples. (Admittedly this is rare.)

RXList.com doesn’t make any mention to fertility issues with this medication.

Wikipedia’s article on prolactin seems to indicate that bromocriptine (as a prolactin-inducer) might conceivably cause impotence through dopamine antagonism and prolonged refractory period. The article doesn’t have any information that would indicate it might have a deleterious effect on sperm though.

So… If he can get it up, it’s probably all working properly. If there’s any question, just go have the guy’s semen tested.
