My husband is taking Penicillin VK for his dental problem .He has to take them for 1 week. Now unfortunately this is the week we were to try to conceive. Does anyone know whether the Penicillin VK would work itself into the sperms, and then into the fetus during conception causing problems? . would you recommended that We not try to conceive when my hubby is still taking Penicillin ?? I am not getting much abt this on the internet!! Please help !

The penicillin HE is taking shouldnt have any effect at all if you conceive. In fact, most medications pregnant women have accidently taken in early pregnancy usually cause no harm either. Its thought that the embryo is protected during the early weeks before the umbilical cord is fully formed and the baby starts sharing its mother's direct blood supply. I hope this helps.
