Does Diabetes affect sperm count?

Ive been trying for sometime now to have a child and it doesnt seem to be working out we have gone to the doc for my wife and he says she perfectly healthy. But in my case i have diabetes and didn't wanna go to the doc i was just wondering if high blood sugar levels would affect that like lowering sperm count or something.
