Are there ways for me to help reduce my sperm count so it lowers my chances of getting someone pregnant?

increase low sperm count

I read a study saying that if you take a hot bath for 30 minutes a week for 3 months can reduce your sperm count by almost 80 percent, I’m just wondering if there were any other things that us guys can do to help not get a baby, other then using a rubber of course

  1. Bit. O.Honey says:

    donate your sperm

  2. bumblebee says:

Any increase in the temp of the testicles decreases the sperm count.
Be inventive…and let us know if it works.

    Heating them up isnt reliable.
Whats wrong with a condom? Beat an unwanted pregnancy

  6. ? says:

Even if you could lower your sperm count by 80%, you would still have 20% of it. Not good odds at all. Do condoms, if you want to be safe. Figure out what is more important. You will never be sure, if you don’t use a condom.

  7. DP123 says:

marijuana, tight underwear, and maybe if you ejaculate couple hours before having sex because the sperm tend to be not to strong

  8. As the Sun Rises® says:

Aparently scientists are developing a “Male Contreceptive Pill” that lowers sperm count, but I dont see why anyone would want to lower sperm count, surely that could permanantly damage a body?

  9. Space says:

This is by far the most stupid question ever:even if you reduce your sperm count you can get a girl pregnant.Always use a condom. One swimmer is enough to do the job.
    Space.

Heat can have a detrimental effect on normal sperm production. It is for this reason that nature has placed the testicles outside the body in the scrotum rather than in the abdomen like the ovaries. Some infertile men soak themselves in a bathtub full of scalding water and emerge looking like lobsters. This can almost stop sperm production completely.

Very frequent intercourse can lead to the demand exceeding the supply. There are quite a number of infertile men whose sex drive is such that they must ejaculate 2-3 times a day. This explodes the myth that links infertility to lack of virility. It can be extremely difficult for these men to reduce their ejaculation rate to every 48 hours.

Smoking over 20 cigarettes a day has been shown to reduce both the sperm count and the sperm motility to quite a major degree.

Excessive alcohol intake will lead to infertility mainly because a man loses both the inclination and the ability to rise to the occasion! Alcohol can also lower the production of sperm and of the male hormone testosterone.

The medications listed below have been associated with male infertility:

    Anabolic steroids
    Antihypertensives
    Allopurinol
    Erythromycin
    Chemotherapy
    Cimetidine
    Colchicine
    Cyclosporine
    Dilantin
    Gentamycin
    Nitrofurantoin
    Tetracycline

Lubricants used with condoms, including spermicides, oils, and Vaseline, can affect fertility

Cocaine or heavy marijuana use appears to temporarily reduce the number and quality of sperm by as much as 50%. Sperm actually have receptors for certain compounds in marijuana that resemble natural substances and which may impair the sperm’s ability to swim and may also inhibit their ability to penetrate the egg.

Deficiencies in certain nutrients, such as vitamin C, selenium, zinc, and folate, may be particular risk factors for low sperm count in such cases.

Bicycling has been linked to impotence in men and also may affect the sperm count. Pressure from the bike seat may damage blood vessels and nerves that are responsible for erections.

Over exposure to environmental assaults (toxins, chemicals, infections) can reduce sperm count either by direct effects on testicular function or on the hormone systems, although the extent of the effect and specific environmental assaults involved are often controversial. Some chemicals that affect sperm production men are : Oxygen-Free Radicals, Estrogen emulation pesticidal chemicals (DDT, aldrin, dieldrin, PCPs, dioxins, and furans ), plastic softening chemicals like Phthalates, hydrocarbons (ethylbenzene, benzene, toluene, and xylene)

Inorganic beef many also lower sperm count if eaten on a regular basis becuase of the hormones that are feed to cows.

    Hope this helps :)

  12. Regardless says:

The only true way to reduce or eliminate sperm is to have surgery to close off the tubes leading to your testicles. But for those who do not like surgery, raising the temperature of your testicles can cut down on sperm.

  13. SBflyer99 says:

One of the best ways to lower sperm count is to eat soy. A recent study determined that it reduces an average sperm count from 120 million per milliliter to 40 million, which is near the point of sterility.

  14. Joseph says:

    its called a vasectomy

  15. eagles7man says:

reducing sperm count does not mean that you will not get a female pregnant.
