My husband and I tried for over a year to get pregnant. After no success I went to the doctor to see if anything was wrong. I tried to make my husband go too, but he was convinced it wasn't him. Turned out I had PCOS (polysystic ovarian syndrome). It's where you don't ovulate normally. Anyway my doctor gave me clomid, and I was so excited and sure i would conceive. When I didn't I was devastated. I told my husband if he didn't go to the doctor and get tested, we weren't ever going to try again. Finally he went and got tested and they said he didn't have very many good swimmers.
Anyway so to answer your question, maybe talk to your doctor about clomid. It makes you ovulate on schedule so you can time everything better. I too was on birth control for a year, so i think that is also why I wasn't ovulating normally, but the clomid really helped. And also for your hubby, look into preseed. It's a sperm friendly lube, and i am convinced that preseed is the reason I'm pregnant today
Good luck and baby dust!
My husband has a low sperm count and I have irregular periods so the doctor put me on clomid. I have tried after we both got meds and it didn't work. Now the doctor wants to inseminate his sperm when I go to ovulate. I am also taking Provera as well to start my period. This would be another option for you if that doesn't work. He said that if this don't work then he wants to do a d &c on me. I hope and pray that this insemination will work. Just some info for you in case. Good luck and God Bless!
i agree with the first answer i have heard that pre-seed is the best thing to use cause its so sperm friendly and natural
Hi hun, my husband & I have been trying for over 2 years now. We are currently seeing a doctor, we will start iui (insemination) next week. My hubby has low sperm count, they are not all moving in the right direction, and some are not formed correctly (causing the movement). He is not on any medication, my dr. thinks that insemination will be the best route. They will wash his sperm (Get rid of any dead sperm) and then I was told that they are given an' "Energy Drink" of somesort, to make them swim faster. I'm sorry that I may not have been any help, because we have yet to become pregnant…but they are other options out there (insemination, medications, ivf, etc). Good luck & I will be praying for you!
My brother-in-law has low sperm count. My sister and him TTC for 18 months with no luck! They both went and got tested and it turned out that is all it was. They put her on clomid CD 3-7 and then had an IUI. It worked first time and she is now 7 weeks pregnant!!! Good luck and TONS of baby dust
